Porsche Cayman with front-end collision damage in JD Autobodywork's Camberwell workshop, awaiting accident repair

Accident repair is the highest-stakes work a body shop does. It’s not just paint and panels — it’s structural integrity, factory-spec alignment, electrical systems behind the bumper, and (often) talking to insurers on your behalf. We treat it that way.

What we handle

  • Front-end collision (bumper, bonnet, wings, lights, radiator support)
  • Rear-end collision (boot floor, tailgate, bumper, lights)
  • Side impact (door, B-pillar, sill, suspension components)
  • Multi-vehicle damage
  • Insurance work — direct billing to most major UK insurers
  • Private (non-insurance) repairs
  • Vandalism repair with documentation

What you pay

Accident repair varies too widely to publish a price list — a £400 bumper job and a £6,000 multi-panel reconstruction can both come in as “front-end damage” depending on what’s underneath. Send photos and we’ll come back with a real number, fast. If it’s an insurance job, we deal with the paperwork.

How it works

  1. 01

    Photo + details

WhatsApp a photo of the damage. Tell us if you've had a quote elsewhere or if you're going through insurance — both fine.

  2. 02

    Inspection

Bring the car in (or we can collect locally). We strip and assess to find every part affected, not just the obvious ones.

  3. 03

    Strip, repair, paint

Panel work, structural straightening if needed, full prep and paint to factory finish. We use OEM parts where possible.

  4. 04

    Quality check + handover

Final inspection, alignment check, all panels and gaps verified. 12-month workmanship guarantee. Pay on collection or via your insurer.

Frequently asked questions

Do you handle insurance claims?

Yes. Bring your claim reference and your insurer's details. Many insurers approve us directly. If your insurer insists on their "approved repairer", you usually still have the right to choose your own — we can help you push back if you prefer.

Should I claim on insurance or pay privately?

Depends on the excess, the size of the job, and your no-claims bonus. Send photos and we'll quote the private cost — then you can compare it against the insurance excess plus the impact on your premium.

How long will the repair take?

Light damage: 3–5 days. Moderate (multiple panels): 1–2 weeks. Severe structural: 3–4 weeks. We give you a target date when we strip the car and update if anything changes.

Will the repair be obvious afterwards?

No. We blend paint into adjacent panels, align all gaps to factory tolerance, and check for any electrical or alignment knock-on issues. The car should drive, look, and feel like it did before the accident.

Is the work guaranteed?

12-month workmanship guarantee on every accident-repair job, in writing on your invoice. Paint manufacturer warranty on the materials is separate.

Can you collect the car?

Yes, locally — anywhere within South East London we can usually arrange collection within 24 hours. Just WhatsApp us your postcode.
