The workshop

JD Autobodywork is run out of an arched-roof workshop on Padfield Road, just south of Camberwell Green. It's small, it's independent, and that's the point — the same hands that quote your car are the hands doing the metalwork, the prep, the paint, and the final polish.

That setup keeps us honest. There's no front-desk middleman charging a markup. There's no high-volume insurance funnel rushing cars through. There's the work in front of us and the time to do it right.

What we work on

We're set up for variety, not specialisation in a single vertical. Daily drivers, performance cars, 4×4s, classics, restorations, accident repairs — they all come through the same workshop and get the same level of attention.

How we price

Most quotes start with a photo on WhatsApp. Two clear shots — straight on, and at an angle — usually tell us more than a verbal description, and let us give you a real price range the same day. If the job needs an in-person look (a lot of accident repairs do), we'll tell you.

We don't do verbal estimates that grow on collection day. The price you agree is the price you pay, unless we find something hidden during stripdown that we couldn't have known from the photos — and if that happens, we tell you and pause before continuing.

Our guarantee

Every job carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee, in writing on your invoice. If anything we did fails — runs, sinkage, lifting paint, panels coming loose — bring the car back and we'll fix it. The paint manufacturer's UV warranty on the materials is separate and depends on the system used.
